The Northern Expedition - Scouting Out Fiskurthorp

The party heads north along the coast in a captured northern ship to the village of Fiskurthorp. The are unsure of how to proceed on their scouting mission. This is understandable given the reputation the northerners have earned in the south as fierce and merciless warriors.

The party decided the best approach is to anchor the ship some way up the coast and then approach the village on foot. The party move silently towards the village and  see that their are guards in the watch towers. Kallista casts a spell to understand the language the northerners might speak. They find a small ferry boat and as they are pulling it across the river to get to the village they are greeted from the river bank.

A northern warrior, Thorgrim, is beckoning the party across the river and welcoming them to the village. When they reach the river bank, Nidal casts a detect evil spell and finds none. The villagers welcome the party and invite them to the feast hall. The party is made to fell comfortable and treated well.

This proves to cause some confusion in the party as what they are seeing doesn't match the image of a northern village they have been raised on.

The feasting goes late into the night. The party find a space in the feasting hall to bed down. They are not disturbed in the night.

Nidal is woken in the morning by a young northern girl. The party is offered porridge. Just as they are finishing breakfast, there is a disturbance outside the hall. When the party goes to see what is happening, they find that the Lux Militant sailors who they left at the ship have been captured.

The sailors are summarily executed. Thorgrim let's the party know that the would also have been executed if he had known they were travelling with the sailors, if they had not been offered shelter and food the night before. He tells them they must leave immediately and never return to the village on pain of death.

The party gathers their things and makes their way back to their ship. As none of the party are proficient or experienced sailors, they take sometime making their way back to Heittfloi.

As they travel to Heittfloi, the party mulls over what they have seen in Fiskurthorp and how it does not match what they have been told about northerners.

The party makes their report to Patriarch and when he finds out that the two sailors were executed he calls for Fiskurthorp to be wipe from the earth. He orders Nidal to lead the force that will see to the destruction of Fiskurthorp.

The party finds some shelter in the ruins of Heittfloi. They set up a camp and sit around the fire to discuss what they should do. Nidal does not want to lead the force to Fiskurthorp. Nibbidard points out that she could be putting her soul in peril if she does not keep to her oath and follow the direction of the patriarch.

The party decides that they will steal away in the night and try and get as far away from Heittfloi as they can so that they can try and find the tree of evil and find out its true nature.

Stone Keep - Arrival

The party arrives at Stone Keep. After paying the entry tax and tying the bands of peace on their swords, daggers and other weapons, they enter the town and part ways with the caravan.   It is close to dinner time so the party decides to find an inn. The gate guard directs them to the Weary Traveler.  After seeing that their horses are properly stabled, they enter the inn and are greeted by the sight of an inn doing a thriving business. The main room of the inn is crowded and noisy. They find a table, sit down, and order some beer. The beer is delicious.  While the party orders food, Nodrog talks to Cullross, the owner/bartender, about getting some rooms for the night. Cullross shows Nodrog the rooms and gives him the keys.  After dinner, Nidal decides to go to the Temple of Light to pray. There she meets Brother Brodribb. He lets Nidal know about the increasing number of orc raids and attacks that seem to be happening around Stone Keep.  Meanwhile in the bar, the party also hears som

Into the Wilderness.

The party decides to leave the Northern Expedition's camp to try and find the tree. The are not sure what they are looking for or what they will find.  The party leave their fire burning and quietly pack up their items. Under the cover of Adrahil's pass without a trace spell they manage to evade the camp guards and escape to the west. They decide to continue heading roughly west. The night is dark and even though it is challenging, they make good time and with a few hours are miles away from the camp.  The party continues to move west through the night. To the north they can hear a fast running river. They move north and come across a cairn. Many of the rocks that make up the cairn are inscribed with runes. Kallista is able to discern their meaning. A rough translation of the words under an arrow pointing to the East is Follow Me to the Sea. There is another arrow point west and the runes read as Follow Me to the Tree. Adrahil finds the pathway indicated by the arrow and the p
While the adventurers have been leveling up and recuperating in the city of Statsberg, they have continued to try and track down Nidal's nemesis Nerak. Rumours have reached them that Nerak has been spotted in the Fishgate area of the city. So the adventurers decided to have some dinner at a local tavern and see if they find out more.  They have dinner at the Boar and Hunter tavern and find out from their server that Nerak has indeed been spotted in the area. However, the server can provide no other information. The party decided to visit the Temple of the Light which is across the road from the Boar and Hunter.  Temple is newly constructed and contains the tomb of St. Cecilia. A large congregation is present and Sister Sarah is conducting the service. The adventurers are surprised to find that the sarcophagus of St. Cecilia glows with its own light. When they touch the sarcophagus all nature of injuries are healed. The last remnants of Adrahil's werewolf curse and Nidal's
