The Staff of the Woodlands

The party has returned to the ship and and is trying to decide how to retrieve the Grim Reaper's treasure from the bottom of the harbour.

A hooded figure stands on the dock and calls to the party. He boards the ship and introduces himself as Aldin an elf of the Realm of the Wilf Woods. He tells the party about orcs attacking the woods and destroying all goodness in the forest. The situation is desperate. Aldin lets the party know that they have a treasure item that could help the forest dwellers in their fight against the orcs - The Staff of the Woodlands.

Aldin asks the party to leave immediately and take the Staff of the Woodlands over the Fang  Mountains to the Wild Woods. Aldin is sure that once the staff is delivered to the Wild Woods the orcs will be defeated.
Aldin tells the best route to the woods is not along the river, but overland by way of Littleton and Stone Keep.

The party are reluctant to leave on this errand. Some of the party do not trust Aldin and Nodrog wants to get the Grim Reaper's treasure before they leave.

Sister Sarah arrives to convince the party there is no time to spare. The party gather their supplies, mount their horses and head towards Littleton.

The party heads north along the coast in a captured northern ship to the village of Fiskurthorp. The are unsure of how to proceed on their scouting mission. This is understandable given the reputation the northerners have earned in the south as fierce and merciless warriors.  The party decided the best approach is to anchor the ship some way up the coast and then approach the village on foot. The party move silently towards the village and  see that their are guards in the watch towers. Kallista casts a spell to understand the language the northerners might speak. They find a small ferry boat and as they are pulling it across the river to get to the village they are greeted from the river bank.  A northern warrior, Thorgrim, is beckoning the party across the river and welcoming them to the village. When they reach the river bank, Nidal casts a detect evil spell and finds none. The villagers welcome the party and invite them to the feast hall. The party is made to fe...
