Stone Keep - Arrival

The party arrives at Stone Keep. After paying the entry tax and tying the bands of peace on their swords, daggers and other weapons, they enter the town and part ways with the caravan.   It is close to dinner time so the party decides to find an inn. The gate guard directs them to the Weary Traveler.  After seeing that their horses are properly stabled, they enter the inn and are greeted by the sight of an inn doing a thriving business. The main room of the inn is crowded and noisy. They find a table, sit down, and order some beer. The beer is delicious.  While the party orders food, Nodrog talks to Cullross, the owner/bartender, about getting some rooms for the night. Cullross shows Nodrog the rooms and gives him the keys.  After dinner, Nidal decides to go to the Temple of Light to pray. There she meets Brother Brodribb. He lets Nidal know about the increasing number of orc raids and attacks that seem to be happening around Stone Keep.  Meanwhile in the bar, the party also hears som

Witch Hunters' Road Block

The party continues on their journey to Stone Keep. They are accompanying the caravan that is led by Hultz. Bleddyn and Myra are riding in one of the wagons. The party stops for noon meal and Nidal and Kallista notice that Bleddyn is able to cause objects to float around her. Bleddyn offers them tea and proceeds to pour the tea and serve it without lift a finger. Kallista shows her some simple cantrips and Bleddyn matches each one with and equally impressive trick.  The party is keeping a watchful eye out for orcs. They round a corner and see figures standing across the road is the distance. As the party draws nearer,  they realize there are a group of witch hunters guarding a bridge.  The witch hunters' leader commands the caravan to stop and demands that all its members submit to a strip search. Nidal strongly objects to this, but Maddack, the leader of the witch hunters, is resolved to carry out his duty. Each of the caravan members are stripped of their clothing and examined.

The Caravan Attack

After a filling breakfast, the party saddles up and gets back on the road to the Wild Wood. The King's Road winds its way through stretches of fields and farms. The weather is pleasant and there a no signs of orcs or other dangers.  Adrahil notices some smoke rising over the next hill. The party immediately prepares for battle. Adrahil and Nodrog sneak forward and crawl up the hill. Adrahil and Nodrog see that the smoke is coming from the camp fire of a small caravan. They move back to the party to let them know what they have seen.  The party decides to approach the caravan. The caravan is understandable concerned when the y see the party of grizzled adventurers approaching. However, they eventually invite the party to share their fire and food.  Just as they are sitting down, there is a commotion behind some of the wagons. Two of the caravan women come running into the camp with orcs hot on their heels. The both are hacked down by their pursuers. The orcs shout their war cries a

Littleton

Grimould Longfoot  After an uneventful day's journey, the party arrives at the town of Littleton. This settlement is inhabited by humans and hobbits. At the entrance to Littleton, they are challenged by some of the local militia who are led by Grimold Longfoot. Grimmold is a quirky character who wears a mishmash of household items for armour.   The party are invited to rest in the Tumbler and Thistle Inn. The inn is cozy and the food is very good. After a long day, Nidal and Kallista decide to get some sleep and Nodrog and Adrahil remain in the common room.  Nodrog is playing cards and Adrahil is relaxing and observing the crowded room when a bell begins to ring and Grimould enters the room in full "armour" shouting about an attack on Littleton. Nodrog and Adrahil go out into the street and see large humanoid shapes in the darkness moving towards them - ORCS!!! Adrahil rushes back in the inn to wake up Nidal and Kallista and Nodrog gets ready to fight the orcs.  The orcs

The Staff of the Woodlands

The party has returned to the ship and and is trying to decide how to retrieve the Grim Reaper's treasure from the bottom of the harbour.  A hooded figure stands on the dock and calls to the party. He boards the ship and introduces himself as Aldin an elf of the Realm of the Wilf Woods. He tells the party about orcs attacking the woods and destroying all goodness in the forest. The situation is desperate. Aldin lets the party know that they have a treasure item that could help the forest dwellers in their fight against the orcs - The Staff of the Woodlands.  Aldin asks the party to leave immediately and take the Staff of the Woodlands over the Fang  Mountains to the Wild Woods. Aldin is sure that once the staff is delivered to the Wild Woods the orcs will be defeated.  Aldin tells the best route to the woods is not along the river, but overland by way of Littleton and Stone Keep.  The party are reluctant to leave on this errand. Some of the party do not trust Aldin and Nodrog wan

The Grim Reaper

Having defeated the shambling mound; the party get into a rowboat and sets off to pursue the wizard in the harbour. Nidal uses her gem of seeing to find the Grim Reaper. Without the gem the ship is invisible. When the party approach the ship they find that there is some kind of dimension wall or wall of invisibility cloaking the ship. Adrahil and Nodrog push through the wall and after getting over their arms disappearing into thin air, they clamber up the side of the Grim Reaper.  A battle breaks out on the deck of the ship. The drow are tough customers and not willing to give up. While the party struggles with the crew, the wizard unleashes a fireball on the deck that engulfs almost everyone. Some drow are killed in the explosion of fire and Nidal, who is already injured, drops burned and unconscious to the deck. Things are looking very desperate.  Suddenly, Bimmz swoops down out of the sky breathing fire and strafes the wizard and drow with fire breath. The wizard is burnt to a cris
