The Temple of Light

Rushing through the streets to get back to the Temple of Light the adventures see many citizens running towards them. As they approach the temple, they notice bodies lying in the courtyard around the temple. They attempt to enter the temple through the west doors, but the doors are blocked. They rush to the south east doors. The sight that greets them is stunning. The light emanating from St. Cecilia's sarcophagus has been reduced to a dull glow. A Drow magic user stands chanting in a pentagram wreathed in tendrils of dark magic. Nerak stands in the temple holding a dagger to Sister Sarah's throat. Beside her is a human wizard who evil intent is obvious. Several Drow warriors are also in the temple.
The evil party gained access to the temple by tunneling up through the floor.

Nerak tells the party to stop and then cuts Sister Sarah's throat, plunges the dagger into Sister Sarah's heart and then throws her body into the hole in the floor. Nerak licks the Sister Sarah's blood from her blade. The human wizard casts a spell and a poisonous cloud envelops the adventurers. The Drow warriors attack. The fight the ensues is intense and confusing. Kallista sends a variety of spells at the wizard and the Drow MU. She uses a cloud kill spell to take out a group of the Drow warriors. Meanwhile Nodrog and Adrahil deal with most of the other Drow.

Nidal fights her way through the Drow to reach Nerak. Nidal gets to Nerak and pauses for it is as though she is seeing a dark reflection of herself. They attack each other with a vengeance. Sparks fly as evil blade meets blessed blade. Nerak puts in some good hits, but can't stem the whirlwind of blows from Nidal. Adrahil jumps into the fight to assist Nidal. There is little Nerak can do and Nidal lands a shattering strike that knocks Nerak to the floor. Nidal moves to finish off Nerak. As she is about to deliver the coup de grace, Nerak touches the gemstone amulet on her necklace and disappears. Nidal continues her strike in the hopes that Nerak has just turned invisible, but alas, Nerak has teleported somewhere else.

The human wizard runs and jumps into the hole in the floor and disappears form the site. The Drow MU continues to his chanting, but it ends quickly as he succumbs to multiple hits and he falls dead.

Nibbidard urges the adventurers to quickly recover Sister Sarah's body. When the adventurers place her body St. Cecilia's sarcophagus the light from St. Cecilia's sarcophagus glows brightly and her wounds are healed and she is resurrected.

Stone Keep - Arrival

The party arrives at Stone Keep. After paying the entry tax and tying the bands of peace on their swords, daggers and other weapons, they enter the town and part ways with the caravan.   It is close to dinner time so the party decides to find an inn. The gate guard directs them to the Weary Traveler.  After seeing that their horses are properly stabled, they enter the inn and are greeted by the sight of an inn doing a thriving business. The main room of the inn is crowded and noisy. They find a table, sit down, and order some beer. The beer is delicious.  While the party orders food, Nodrog talks to Cullross, the owner/bartender, about getting some rooms for the night. Cullross shows Nodrog the rooms and gives him the keys.  After dinner, Nidal decides to go to the Temple of Light to pray. There she meets Brother Brodribb. He lets Nidal know about the increasing number of orc raids and attacks that seem to be happening around Stone Keep.  Meanwhile in the bar, the party also hears som

Into the Wilderness.

The party decides to leave the Northern Expedition's camp to try and find the tree. The are not sure what they are looking for or what they will find.  The party leave their fire burning and quietly pack up their items. Under the cover of Adrahil's pass without a trace spell they manage to evade the camp guards and escape to the west. They decide to continue heading roughly west. The night is dark and even though it is challenging, they make good time and with a few hours are miles away from the camp.  The party continues to move west through the night. To the north they can hear a fast running river. They move north and come across a cairn. Many of the rocks that make up the cairn are inscribed with runes. Kallista is able to discern their meaning. A rough translation of the words under an arrow pointing to the East is Follow Me to the Sea. There is another arrow point west and the runes read as Follow Me to the Tree. Adrahil finds the pathway indicated by the arrow and the p
While the adventurers have been leveling up and recuperating in the city of Statsberg, they have continued to try and track down Nidal's nemesis Nerak. Rumours have reached them that Nerak has been spotted in the Fishgate area of the city. So the adventurers decided to have some dinner at a local tavern and see if they find out more.  They have dinner at the Boar and Hunter tavern and find out from their server that Nerak has indeed been spotted in the area. However, the server can provide no other information. The party decided to visit the Temple of the Light which is across the road from the Boar and Hunter.  Temple is newly constructed and contains the tomb of St. Cecilia. A large congregation is present and Sister Sarah is conducting the service. The adventurers are surprised to find that the sarcophagus of St. Cecilia glows with its own light. When they touch the sarcophagus all nature of injuries are healed. The last remnants of Adrahil's werewolf curse and Nidal's
